River Walk

Jim wants me to be sure I tell you how much he loves San Antonio!  You can walk down the street with an alcoholic beverage in your hand, there's a restaurant/bar at every turn and the people are so friendly.  We love it.

This morning we started the day as all 1st time tourists should. We took a ride in the boat on the river.  It was a nice way to see the entire area.  We had already walked most of it but this was a leisure tour.  This was not Jim's idea of fun but he indulged me.

We needed to get started early because we knew there would be so many people here for the George Strait concert.  We were right! The place was packed by 1 PM.  It was the perfect time to hang out at the pool while doing a few loads of laundry.

The concert started at 5:30 so that's when we strolled back to the BBQ restaurant we had our eyes on earlier. We're in Texas. We had to do Texas BBQ!  And it was excellent!

We wandered through the shops and looked for trinkets for the Grandkids, found a martini bar then went for marble slab ice cream. It was a perfect day!

As much as we have enjoyed this city, it's time to move on.  We'll leave early because we've decided to drive through to New Orleans if we can.  The plan to stop in Houston has changed. If we see something we want to see, we might change our minds once again! That's the beauty of this vacation!

  2. Your raves have prompted me to look seriously at visiting San Antonio, something we have talked about doing for a long time,in the spring of next year! Keep writing and shooting! This could get expensive if we decide to visit every place you visit and carry on about!
